Counting down to Christmas becomes a small daily ritual with this wooden Santa advent calendar from VELORA. Rather than a card calendar that goes in the recycling, it is a proper decoration that comes out of the box each December and becomes part of the family's festive routine for years to come.
The countdown pieces are detachable, so the display can be changed each day from the first to the twenty fourth of December. Made from wood, it has a warmth and weight that printed card cannot match, and the cheerful Santa design sits happily on a mantelpiece, a shelf, a hallway console or a sideboard alongside candles and greenery. It is equally at home in a family house or a flat. Children quickly make changing the day their own job each morning, which is half the fun of a countdown, and it gives the whole household a small shared moment in the busy weeks before Christmas.
Because it is reusable, it spreads the cost of Christmas decorations over many seasons, and it packs away neatly once the festivities are over. It is a decorative item for the home rather than a toy. The detachable countdown pieces are small, so keep them out of reach of children under three, and supervise younger children when they are changing the day.
